A method, not a shortcut
Correspondence encourages comparison across scales: person and community, microcosm and macrocosm, inner pattern and outward behavior. A useful analogy reveals; a careless one merely decorates.
Modern practice
Use the maxim as a question: “What pattern here may echo elsewhere?” Then test the insight against evidence, context, and exceptions.
